Water is the most common cause of damage to buildings, since it allows dissolved salts, aggressive substances and microorganisms to enter mineral building materials, which causes healing, salt secretion, peeling, surface layer leakage or dark spots. During cold periods, freezing and thawing processes consequently lead to the destruction of building materials such as concrete, stone, brick and plaster.
